Rumour has it, in the not too distant future Congleton will be the new “Aldery Edge”. It has always been a town where a drink can be enjoyed, however recent investment has seen the number of eateries and bars develop greater footfall with further exciting plans bound to enhance this town’s growing reputation.

Capital Walk, who we are delighted to call our neighbours will shortly be opening, delivering drinks and flavours from around the world, there is the beautiful Lion and Swan and the contemporary Radley which sits below. The newly opened Higher Ground is a must-visit, ale fans should pop a visit to the Wonky Pear, Young Pretender, Barleyhops and Beartown tap in their calendar. The Crazy Moose is a unique and fun bar, there is the ever-popular DV8, funky Rumba and trendy Ariba. Not forgetting you curry lovers start your night at Purple Pakora, the rogan josh is a particular favourite of the SB team!

Things to do

There are a plethora of things to do both within Congleton and its surrounding areas , so no matter your tastes there is something for everyone. For those of you who are seeking adventure and enjoy the more active side of things then look no further than Astbury Water Sports Centre which is home to a range of water activities, from kayaking to sailing and everything in between. But don’t worry if you don’t want to get wet there is also a range of land based activities as well as school holiday programs to keep the children entertained.

Maybe you enjoy the quieter side of life and enjoy going on a relaxing walk, if this is the case then there are a range of walks to choose from such as Brereton Heath Country Park , Macclesfield Canals or why not even venture to the top of The Cloud and take in the picturesque views.

If something a little more cultured is your style then why not check out the Daneside Theatre where a vast array of different shows are put on to suit all tastes. Or for those of you with a National Trust membership be sure to go and take in the beauty of Little Moreton Hall.

Those with families, Glebe Farm is well worth a visit , as well as being able to go and visit the array of various animals including some very adorable Alpacas there is also an array of independent shops and a café where you can stop for a tasty treat.

Community

We are proud to support the local communities within Congleton by having strong links to local sporting teams in the form of the Vale Juniors and Congleton Grizzlies both of which are fantastic clubs providing clubs to help in the growth and development of young people. There is a thriving market community with Congleton with the market being open with a variety of stalls every Tuesday and Saturday, with the Makers Market being held on the last Saturday of every month. There are a variety of schools to choose from within Congleton with both Saint Marys Catholic Primary school and Black Firs Primary school being two examples of local primary schools.
